Day 3
Day 3 is most disastrous day! After check out from hotel with a light breaky, our tour guide brought us to visit all the souvenirs shops. Shop NO1 : TeaPot. Luckily, one of travel mate, Mr V bought a set of tea pot which entitle to free extra one set tea pot plus six small cups. The sales guy is young and only 22 yrs old. He commented that I'm looking younger than my actual age, he thought I'm 26-27 yrs old who is a weirdo as I'm still single. He said if a male hasn't maried after 30 yrs old... something wrong hahhaa. Shop NO 2: Pearl factory. As today is mother's day, the hardcore n extremely rude sales person keep pushing us to purchase their products. It doesn't mean I do not luv my mum if I insist not to get something for her in tht pearl factory. A travel mate was attacked by surrounding sales ladies.. very funny to see his reaction while nothing much I can do at tht moment. We been told we got to spend one hour in each shop... my precious half day gone...Before we depart to ShangHai, we have lunch beside tht pearl shop. I like the beansprout except too much chili oils. The fish got so many mini bones, ( what a stupid statement!!!) Nice to try but lazy to eat. The MONS Beer is tasteless.. like plain water ...After lunch, Shop NO 3: Jed factory. The salespersons are profession actors & actress. A whole cast cosists few characters: a boss aka teacher, a trainee, an assistant, a tea lady. At first, the trainee will introduce the beauty of jed to us. The boss aka teacher appear in the mist of explanation. Boss will ask trainee to get his collection and show us. The assistant will go out and get different tray of jed for us to choose. At the same time, the tea lady will serve drink to us. The boss will pursue u indirect way so support his charity work, This so called boss was exaggerated: he told us he is part time lecturer at HKUniversity, he hates doing corporate things but love arts. It's our fate that we can meet. he intend give us a discounted rate for kick off a frenship. Do u think I need such fren? End up, I remain silent and break the olive branch.
After long hours journey ( 4hrs nap in the van) we arrive ShangHai popular street, NanNing St南宁路, it was "heavy drizzling", the goods is super duper pricey...Our tour guide has advised us just " look look & see see" coz local prefer to South East Asia for shopping. After a quick tour on major malls, discover than SH rate is triple higher than MY such as a plain local brand t-shirts coz more than MYR150 ++. Later on , we went to Cheng Huang Miao城隍庙 A silly me thought we are going for another temple, apparently , it was another major tourist attraction at ShangHai. Many foods, snack, drink and souvenir in thise area, tour buses is non-stop moving in & out. At first, i try to queue for this famous NanXiang dumpling, eventually I couldn't make it due to time. Feel self-pity as I cant eat ShangHai dumpling...
Tour guide change dinner location last minutes and brought us to a mall basement for food. The food is so-so except the so-called appetizer ,cold prawn which we can't dip d sauce in glass. Nice to see but hard to dip.
The ShangHai nightview is magnificent, however; due to bad weather... Most of the time, i was hiding in the vessel .. not really enjoy the night river cruise. Nightview photos were taken by Mr.S... thx guy for wonderful contribution ;p
Hey hey, the ShangHai famoust nightlife ( 新天地), again we was told only can spend limited in this pub area. One pint beer can up to MYR40. Hope I can spend a lovely night out in this street while enjoying live band music. No doubt, ShangHai is much more advance than KL.
After long day out, we checked into Pattaya Hotel... Opps, a china "pattaya hotel", the room is ok except the white light... cant dim the light too... Wonder why the hotel management decor an orange leaves at lobby.
Personal rate: 2.0/5.0 due to inconvenient location
Day 4
Nightmare again during early morning, we were brought to
Shop NO4, a Chinese traditional herbs center. Many doctors touch ur pulse and analyse ur illness, I admit tht im not 100% healthy. Just like another syndicate, make me very pissed off with their "presentation" or "fake acts". Luckily, after the imposed "shopping", we went to a super nice place: Feng Jing... 1500++ history old town. I luv the lunch which is simple, fresh and tasty. The local called the dishese as "farmer's meal". Again, its oily. I never thought cube size yam with simple seasoning can be so delicious. The super small fish is crunchy too. Local dog is cute too.
小桥流水人家。。。
Happy hours always short and we were sent to big leather shopping mall. We got to spend 3 hours in these mega mall. Nightmare starting... even thought I like shopping but hate window shopping.. nice to see but cant buy... what for? Under hot weather in Malaysia, i rather a singlet instead of fur n leather. End up , we hiding ourselves in local famous franchise fast food chain. The soy drink really nice and not too sweet. Just finish our tea-time, our tour guide brought us to dinner before 5:30PM... what the HXXXX..... We are the only table to be served, all the workers including the boss is waiting for us to closing down the restaurant. WHat an awful experience. Basically, the food is fried with dark soy sauce... dislike :(
The tour guide refuse to bring us jalan2 and direct send us to hotel, Yu Long International Commercial Hotel. He told us tht this hotel is very classy n high standard. Eventually, all of us complaining the bed compare with previous hotel's bed. hahaa
No doubt, the hotel decor is better than others...
Personal rate: 3.0/5.0
Another old town visit , Hai Ning 海宁, many local production come for drama shooting such as famous : 鹿鼎记. Ironically, the whole village is selling dumpling... Everyone is day n nite eat dumpling loh.... The local authority has build a big stage for "high tide : sea-viewing" every 15th of Aug Chinese calender. For me, we spend a lot of money for an annual event, is the investment worth to build so many buildings, pagoda, concrete staircases?
Voila part 2...
